The first “layer” of the stack is SENSE, a multi-function biosensor that tracks vital signs, discovers disease and measures environmental threats such as heavy metals in water. The next layer is MyOasis, a mobile app that interacts with the world through the user, camera and sensors to monitor and report both visible and invisible threats. The final layer is KEEP, a secure, privacy-preserving data-storage-and-analysis platform that detects, visualizes and reports local and global trends.
SENSE
A low-cost tricorder for the globe.
SENSE contains two components. The optical and electronic sensor array lets you measure vital data such as temperature, heart rate and oxygen levels. The electrochemical sensor (potentiostat) works with cheap, glucometer like, disposable strips to measure environmental pollutants, human and even animal diseases.
The technology behind our devices is tried and true; we’re just making it cheaper, better and putting it together so anyone can use it. While components of our tech are already available in some places, due to cost and proprietary technologies they are often ill suited for global deployment or use in resource-limited settings. With SENSE we are trying to remove this bottleneck by designing open-source, low-cost vitals and electrochemical sensors that excel in both environmental and biological sample testing.
MyOasis
The data you need, in the palm of your hand.
The phone application that brings everything together. We take our phones with us wherever we go so the MyOasis app is always at your fingertips. Connecting to SENSE via Bluetooth, the app has the data and feedback you need immediately. Leveraging the internet connectivity available through cellular networks, sensor data can be sent to KEEP, and information you need can be sent back to you.

This emerging standard allows for the quantifying of information security so that guarantees can be made regarding individual data privacy. In layman’s terms, we will be able to share large amounts of data while preserving the privacy of individuals’ data so it can’t be traced back to them.
